Our goals are in:

To serve anesthesiology and regulatory organizations as a representative of, and voice for, all academic anesthesiology departments.

To provide members a collegial and supportive forum for the exchange of ideas and experience with a particular emphasis on:

  1. Leadership and management of academic anesthesiology departments.
  2. Structure of academic anesthesiology departments, residency and fellowship programs, and the requirements to effectively manage these entities.
  3. Methods of education, research, quality assurance, clinical care, and revenue generation.
  4. Education on the political, economic, and academic environment departments exist in.
  5. Mentorship of academic anesthesiologists.

To liaise and work effectively with organizations such as the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Association of University Anesthesiologists, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, Society for Education in Anesthesia, and the American Board of Anesthesiology to enhance academic anesthesia research, education, and clinical care.

To communicate effectively within the academic anesthesiology community and outwards to bodies that need to address issues of common concern.
